Mock Tidelands. A very flooded field (NOT the tidelands) containing a warning sign. This is the same location on the reservation where I photographed the Fourth of July fireworks booths last July!

Stripes. Pink and grey clouds at Legoe Bay.

I'm Leaving on a Jet Plane. Someone has a beautiful view of Mount Baker and the Sisters.

A Strange Morning. Ominous light over the Canadian mountains.

Tow Zone. A cute sign outside a cafe in town.

Stormy Weather. There are usually no serious waves in the bay East of the island, but during a recent wind storm, I snapped these crashing in front of our house.

Always Gorgeous. Sunset on the West side of the island.

My Birthday Present (I Wish!). A tempering machine jam-packed with chocolate at the chocolate store we toured for my birthday!

Wall of Wonder. Some of the molds used to make cute chocolate shapes (my favorite was a set that included an owl, log, and other woodland shapes).

Birthday's End. A full moon lights up the water, illuminating a bush at the edge of our yard.

Misty Morning. The view from the house one morning last week.

Ahoy. A lone boat wanders through the islands.

Moo. Cows nibble under a fantastically foggy Lummi Mountain.

More Impossibility. Another sunrise with hard-to-believe colors.

Unloading. The ferry pulling into the island dock at dusk.

Food. The pretty sign at one of our two island restaurants.

Lurking. A heron trying to blend in with the rocks beyond grasses on the bluff.

Classic. Mountain reflections.

Island Animals. Horses grazing in a field below Lummi Mountain, in black and white.

Wild Sky. Sun behind clouds looking south on the ferry.

Delicate Fog. Portage Island appears covered in lace on a foggy winter day.

In Flight. The awesome sculpture overlooking Guemes Island near the Guemes ferry terminal in Anacortes.

On the Diagonal. A pebble-strewn beach in Anacortes.

Peek-A-Boo. A barely-there sunset over an interesting unknown building.

You Know It's the Pacific Northwest When... A beautified trash can.

Repairs. One of the last privately operated ferries in this area, which runs from Victoria to Port Angeles, undergoes routine maintenance.

Birds of a Feather. The geometry here inspired me to publish it in black and white.

Don't Be Blue. A view of the industrial and the wild at twilight on an Anacortes ferry dock.
