Photos: Week 74

Days 1-3 of my week in New York City:

Bye-Bye San Juans. Flying to NYC on the redeye.

Pink Morning. Starting our descent into the city.

Happy Hannukah! The view front the front of our friends' building.

Clever Sign. The Cooper-Hewitt Design Museum.

Central Park. A classic view of the city.

More Park. The view looking north from Belvedere Castle.

Brrr! Skating in the park in 20-something degree weather.

Classic. An Eloise Christmas in The Plaza.

Subway Art. The tiling at 96th St.

A Historic Moment. The theater where I saw David Duchovny in a play... and met him in person afterward and shook his hand!!!!!! (imagine a million more exclamation marks there)

Too Cool for School. Graffiti I liked north of Central Park.

St. John the Divine Cathedral. A gorgeous building (although the fountain in the foreground featuring lobster claws, a huge moon, an angel caressing a giraffe, and more was somewhat disturbing).

Massive. The cathedral doors.

Poor Pim. A poignant prayer candle in the cathedral.

Stained Glass. I like the way the lanterns hang within the light of the stained glass window here.

Interesting Synagogue Facade. The roof, columns, and banister are all decorative!

NYC Gargoyles. The one on the right is watching us!

Photos: Week 72

Ice Cold. The rusty culvert that feeds our creek dumps water between bizarre ice formations.

Frozen Solid! The creek was hard enough to stand on last week (everything is melted now).

Tucked In. Driftwood on the snowy beach.

Slippery. A snowplow leaving the dangerously icy store parking lot.

Stripes. Our beach, with snow.

More Stripes. The wind blew the snow into dainty lines on the trees in our yard.

Winter View. Looking south from our driveway.
