Photos: Week 11

The Island Commuter Ferry. The car ferry has been undergoing scheduled maintenance for a few weeks and finally returns this Wednesday.

View Downhill. The view East enjoyed by people and Alpaca (photo coming next week!) alike.

Island Graffiti. A delicately colored shed door.

Guardhouse. A tiny structure at the beginning of a driveway.

A Boatload of Flowers. Repurposing boats in this way is a fad in this area.

Bacon Caramels. I made these a few days ago and they are incredibly delicious and, of course, sinful.

Typical Island Driveway. I always wonder what kind of house lies behind the trees.

First Sign of Fall. With little rain this summer, leaves are already changing.

Backyard Abstract. I like the outline of the fir tree against the blue sky.

Horizon View. Reefnetters all in a row.

Keeping Watch. The lighthouse on Patos Island.

Evidence of New Snow. Mount Baker and sisters.

Beachfire. We cooked sausages and watched the pink dusk.

Seattle Panorama. Taken from Alki Point.

Message from Above. Vancouver BC's missive to the masses.

Vancouver Dusk. The view from Granville Island.

Nothing Happened. Funny--but unfortunately, nothing really did happen to us in the much over-rated city of Victoria.

Night and Day, Good and Evil. Taken from the ferry traveling from Victoria to Port Angeles, WA.

Dollhouse Furniture? Nope, this was the living room in our Victorian mansion hotel attic suite in Port Townsend, WA.

Port Townsend. The prettiest town I've seen so far in the northwest (except for our island).

Boats in Line. Boats lining up for the annual wooden boat festival in Port Townsend (we saw the preparations, but missed the actual festival).

Visit to Seattle. The northern end of the famous Pike Place Market.

Fish Waterfall. We weren't sure where the fish were...

The Real Seattle. McDreamy himself.

Seattle Sunset. Rays of light over the Olympic Peninsula.

Back to Bellingham. Alaskan ferries this way.

Cleo's Stone. One of several random historic events memorialized along the shore in Bellingham.

Storm Clouds. Looking west toward the islands.
